We're excited to extend a HUGE Thank You to our staff, students, and judges that helped our annual school science fair a HUGE success! We saw hundreds of projects across a wide array of categories! It was absolutely exciting to explore science with our students and celebrate their creative projects and hard work to test and experience science first-hand. Congratulations to ALL of our winners this year!

We've made it! How crazy and exciting it is to see we've made it 100 days through classes, tests, recesses, and lunches with our new and old friends and teachers! Here's to our phoenix flame burning bright so long!

After much preparation, planning, and anticipation for this moment, we have finally broken ground at ASE West! In collaboration with Building Hope, we took Tuesday, January 19th to celebrate our milestones and achievements that grant us the opportunity to open our new West campus, and build up not only a new building, but our excitement for our first K-8 classes coming THIS FALL! We look forward to seeing progress on demolition and construction in the coming months! A big thanks to all who had the chance to attend, and those helping see this project through.

It's never too late to get involved with our PTO - join us tonight at 5pm in the mid/high cafeteria or online to help our PTO get ready for spring activities, from movie night to book fair to fundraisers! If joining online, you can join with GoogleMeet: https://meet.google.com/xas-wyyr-zby
We hope to see you there!

We are still in need of parents and community members alike to share their careers with our students on February 20th from 8am-2pm! Ever wondered what it takes aside from excellent grades to be matched to an ivy league school? Our ASE Alumni, Marwa Zameer, visited ASE before the break to share her story from freshman year of high school as a Phoenix all the way through her service hours, volunteering, extracurriculars, and other factors that helped her match to Stanford to begin her freshman year back in the fall!

Students from the Special Education Department had an exciting and meaningful field trip to Durango, Colorado. During their visit, they explored the Railroad Museum, the Animas Museum, and the Animas River Trail, giving them opportunities to learn through real-world experiences. One of the highlights of the trip was riding the Polar Express, which brought joy and excitement to everyone. Students traveled in small groups, allowing them to practice teamwork, communication, and independence. They demonstrated responsibility throughout the day by following directions, staying with their groups, and showing respect at every location. Even with a full schedule, students remained positive, engaged, and enthusiastic about each activity. This field trip was not only fun but also educational, offering valuable life lessons and memorable moments that students will carry with them for years to come.

Mrs. King's 8th Grade English classes participated in a Storytelling Workshop from a UNM Student, Arykah Melton, where students created a storyline backwards - starting from the denouement, followed by the climax, conflict, then the exposition. Students were also given tips on making their movie for the Divine Comedy - Inferno.
