Albuquerque School of Excellence West Campus is exploring the possibility of offering an NM PreK program, and we want to hear from YOU!

Kirtland Air Force Base
This Department of Defense education program provides 25 hours of STEAM learning—Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
The program’s activities include programming robots, creating 3D computer designs, exploring chemistry, building circuits, studying motion with CO₂-powered cars, and experiencing flight simulation. Students will solve problems, test ideas, and discover how classroom learning connects to exciting careers!
We can’t wait to see our students’ curiosity and creativity take flight!
One Book, One School: The Wild Robot
This week, ASE West students read chapters 1–4 of The Wild Robot by Peter Brown in class! Keep the conversation going at home!

Celebrate the U.S. Air Force’s Birthday!
Tomorrow, September 18, we will celebrate the birthday of the United States Air Force! Students may dress down by wearing ultramarine blue and golden yellow—the official Air Force colors.
Students will also watch a short video during the morning memo to learn about and honor the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Musa’s science class put curiosity into action while exploring how light interacts with transparent, translucent, and opaque materials. Through hands-on experiments, students made predictions, tested their ideas, and discovered the science behind light and shadows!
Join us for 6th–8th Grade Curriculum Night on September 17 from 5:30–7:00 PM.
Families will review schoolwide expectations, learn what students will be studying this year, and connect with our staff. We look forward to seeing you!

We are excited to invite our 3rd–5th grade families to Curriculum Night! Now that beginning-of-year testing is complete, we are ready to dive deeper into learning and share what students will be working on throughout the year.
Families will have the opportunity to follow their child’s schedule for the evening, visit classrooms, meet teachers, ask questions, and learn more about the curriculum, resources, routines, and expectations used in each subject area.
Curriculum Night will take place right after school from 4:30–5:30 p.m. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
We look forward to spending time with our families, sharing what learning looks like in 3rd–5th grade, and strengthening the connection between home and school. We hope to see you there!
